City of Houston Thanks Beyoncé For Supporting Low Income Housing

Beyonce Supports Low Income Housing

An article recently published on BET.com shows how celebrities often come to the rescue to help those in need of housing. They especially like to help people in their home towns. The article focused on the contribution recently made by American singer, songwriter and actress Beyoncé.

What she is doing for low-income housing

Beyoncé was born and raised in Houston, Texas, and she has not forgotten her roots. She recently donated $7 million to build a housing complex for Houston's homeless. The housing project will provide homes for men, women and children in Houston who have no place to live. The apartment complex will include 43 units and has been named Knowles-Temenos Place.

This is not Beyoncé's first donation

As a child, Beyoncé used to sing at St. John's United Methodist Church in Houston. According to her Pastor, Rudy Rasmus, over the years the singer has donated millions of dollars to support low-income housing and the homeless in her home town of Houston.
