NBA Star LeBron James To Inspire Underprivileged Kids in New Disney TV Show

LeBron James TV Show

"Sports and athletes were my inspiration growing up," states LeBron James. Now he has an opportunity to inspire other kids with a new half-hour show designed for kids and their families. LeBron and his business partner Maverick Carter are the executive producers of the ESPN Films' and Disney XD's new special scheduled to air on Sunday, October 26, at 8:00 p.m ET/PT.

The inspiration for the show

LeBron grew up in Akron, Ohio, where he was an outstanding high school basketball player. He remembers how other basketball stars like Michael Jordan and Deion Sanders were a huge inspiration to him because they also faced challenges in their lives. When he decided to do something himself that would inspire other young athletes, he decided on this show for many reasons.

Dreams can come true

As ESPN Films executive producer, Connor Schell, explains, "For an audience of kids everywhere, the tone of the show is meant to be aspirational and illustrate how much support and hard work goes into LeBron becoming who he is today." The show was an easy choice for LeBron and his partner, who want to send the message to other kids that dreams can come true.

LeBron will share many of his own personal stories and experiences on the show that will include friends, mentors, teammates and former coaches who all played an important part in his career and success. The show airs on Sunday, October 26, at 8:00 p.m. ET/PT.
