Actress Susan Sarandon Joins the Effort to Find Homes for America's Homeless Veterans

Susan Sarandon

Susan Sarandon, an Oscar-winning actress, has joined other celebrities in the effort to find homes for America's homeless veterans. There are 57,000 men and women in the U.S. who have served their country but now have no place to live. Susan has joined an organization called Veterans Matter to help raise money to house America's homeless veterans.

Sarandon joins 'Veterans Matter'

Veterans Matter is a non-profit organization that works directly with HUD and the VA to ensure that all the money raised for homeless veterans go directly to landlords who provide homes for veterans. Sarandon is joining other celebrities such as Kid Rock, Ice-T, Katy Perry, John Mellencamp and Heart who are using their celebrity status and influence to raise more money for our veterans.

The organization is grateful to these celebrities for making a difference. Due to their help, Veterans Matter has been able to find homes for over 400 veterans. Why are celebrities supporting this effort? Sarandon summed it up with this comment, “This is personal to me; I want to help Veterans Matter because it is so important that we work to help house the heroes on our streets.”
