Living cheaply, or cheaper, is the goal of most Americans now. But finding out where one can live cheaper can be a daunting task. So, here are the top 10 cheapest places to live, according to an article published recently in The Chicago Tribune.
#10 - Augusta, Georgia - cost of living: 12.9 percent below U.S. average; median household income: $38,714; median home value = $102,800.
#9 - Temple, Texas - cost of living: 12.9 percent below U.S. average; median household income: $51,192; median home value: $113,200.
#8 - Wichita Falls, Texas - cost of living: 13.2 percent below U.S. average; median household income: $44,390; median home value: $91,300.
#7 - Jonesboro, Arkansas - cost of living: 13.3 percent below U.S. average; median household income: $39,388; median home value: $133,500.
#6 - Youngstown, Ohio - cost of living: 13.5 percent below U.S. average; median household income: $24,421; median home value: $48,100.
#5 - Idaho Falls, Idaho - cost of living: 14.4 percent below U.S. average; median household income: $46,291; median home value: $147,800.
#4 - Memphis, Tennessee - cost of living: 14.6 percent below U.S. average; median household income: $36,817; median home value: $98,300.
