Dangerous college campus

There are a lot of things to consider when sending your son or daughter off to college. Of course, money is one of them, but the safety of your child is also at the top of the list. Parents want their children to receive a good education, but worrying about their safety is something they should not have to deal with. Yet it is a very real concern at these 25 U.S. colleges.

How the colleges were rated

The ratings were done by the Office of Postsecondary Education (OPE) and include 4-year colleges and universities with 1,000 or more undergraduate and graduate students. The ratings were based on the number of crimes committed compared to the size of the student body. The types of crime included murder, manslaughter, sex offenses, robbery, aggravated assault, burglary, motor vehicle theft, and arson.
